The studio
Homo Lapis. Lapis, in Italian, is a pencil.
The oldest mark-making tool and the newest one, in the same name. It is not a pun we came up with afterwards — it is how we work.
Who we are
A creative AI studio in Gorizia that combines motion design with generative artificial intelligence.
We help designers, broadcasters, museums and brands produce original images and video with AI — with full control over style, consistency and rights. We use generative AI in real production every day, and we build the systems we use: JustAE, a commercial jingle generator, and custom model training pipelines.
For traditional motion design work the studio operates as Homo Lapis at homolapis.com. This site is the AI arm.
How we work
Four positions we do not negotiate
The model serves the style
01
A generative model that produces a generic look is a model that has not been trained. We fine-tune on the client’s own material, and we keep it local.
Rights stay where they belong
02
Original music, commercial licence included, models trained on material you own. Where the rights sit is written into the estimate, not left to be inferred.
AI carries the repetition
03
It does not carry the intent. The storyboard comes to life through intention, not chance — the automation sits underneath the decisions, not on top of them.
Tools where the work happens
04
Inside After Effects, inside Photoshop, inside ComfyUI. A creative tool that requires leaving the editor is a tool that gets used twice.
AI courses
Taught by people who use it in production
Hands-on training in generative AI for designers, editors and communication teams. Not a survey of what exists — the workflows we actually run, on the software you actually have.
